verified · 21 August 2026That model name is an IMS product code — series, cup count, height and hole pattern are all encoded in it. IMS basket codes, decoded explains how to read one, and lists every code covered here.
This basket is one of a line. See every IMS B70 Competition basket compared — the whole ladder of heights and variants on one page, with the three diameters they share.

The shallowest basket in IMS’s NanoQuartz-coated B70 line — 20mm, rated 11.5–13.5 g for a dark roast and 13–15 g for a light one. If you dose in the low teens, this is the NT basket that keeps the puck filling the basket instead of sitting at the bottom of a deeper one.
The NanoQuartz coating
The Nanotech line’s whole point is the surface. IMS describes the coating as enhancing water flow, preventing coffee oils from sticking and making cleaning effortless — in its own technical words, ‘Electropolished & Nanoquartz coated’, ‘highly resistant to chemical corrosion’ with residue removed ‘with a simple wipe’. Under the coating it is competition geometry: 715 holes of 0.30mm in a hexagonal pattern across a Ø49mm perforated face, flat-bottomed and cylindrical.
The full NT ladder
| Code | Height | Dark | Medium | Light |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B702TFH20NT | 20mm | 11.5/13.5 g | 12/14 g | 13/15 g |
| B702TFH22NT | 22mm | 14/16 g | 14.5/16.5 g | 15/17 g |
| B702TFH24NT | 24mm | 16/18 g | 16.5/18.5 g | 17/19 g |
| B702TFH26NT | 26mm | 18/20 g | 18.5/20.8 g | 19/21 g |
| B702TFH28NT | 28mm | 20/22 g | 20.5/22.5 g | 21/23 g |
Five codes, and that is the whole family — the table above is IMS’s own, so there is no sixth NT height to hunt for. Every one of them carries the same Ø70mm border and Ø60mm body, so the choice is purely dose.
Same official B70 compatibility as the rest of the series. Gaggia machines take the narrower B68 series and are deliberately not cross-referenced.

Specs verbatim: 'Border: Ø 70 mm', 'Body: Ø 60 mm', 'Height: 20 mm', 'Tamper: Ø 58/58.4 mm', 'Coating: Nanoquartz', 'Pattern: 715 Holes'; technical specification 'Perforated Area: Ø 49 mm', 'Holes: 715 (Exagonal pattern)', 'Hole Diameter: 0.30 mm', 'Finishing: Electropolished & Nanoquartz coated'. Described as a 'Cylindrical filter with a flat bottom featuring the exclusive Nanoquartz coating'. The page's 'Capacities Comparison (NT Series)' table gives this height as 11.5/13.5 gr (dark roasted), 12/14 gr (medium) and 13/15 gr (light), and lists the whole NT family as exactly five codes: B702TFH20NT, B702TFH22NT, B702TFH24NT, B702TFH26NT and B702TFH28NT.
- https://www.imsfiltri.com/IMS-competition-Catalogue.pdf (archived) — Official IMS Competition Series catalogue, read firsthand 2026-07-04, whose 'For tamper 58 / 58.4' B70 compatibility list names La Marzocco, Rancilio, Lelit, Rocket, ECM and 'BREVILLE (The Oracle)' among the fitting brands — and 'FLAIR ESPRESSO (58)', which is why the Flair 58 is cross-referenced here; Gaggia is assigned to the narrower B68 series, so B70 baskets do not cross-reference Gaggia machines.
