How we verify compatibility

Wrong fitment data sends someone to buy the wrong part. So every entry carries a confidence badge that tells you exactly how good the source behind it is — and we never dress a weaker source up as a stronger one.

The confidence tiers

verified Manufacturer. The fitment comes from a manufacturer primary source — an official product page, manual, or catalogue — read firsthand and quoted verbatim, with the read date shown. This is the standard we hold most of the database to. Search snippets, blogs and retailer listings never earn this badge.
measured specMeasured / inferred. The manufacturer doesn't print the figure, but it follows from a documented chain we can show — most often the maker naming a standard grouphead (e.g. the E61, which is always 58 mm) — or from a third party that measured it, such as a basket maker's published fitment list. Reliable, but the number doesn't come from the machine's own maker, and we say so.
community-referencedCommunity. The spec is well-documented across reputable community sources but has no primary or measured citation we can point to. Use it, but with the lightest confidence.
needs verificationUnverified. We haven't found a source good enough for any tier above. The entry says so plainly rather than guess.

The rules behind every tier

Sources are quoted, not paraphrased, with the date they were read. The notes are published on every entry so you can check our work — and re-check ours as manufacturer pages change.
Gaps are stated, not papered over. When a manufacturer doesn't publish a spec, the badge drops a tier and the note spells out exactly what's missing and where the figure does come from.
Cross-references follow the source, not the assumption.A basket is listed as fitting a machine only when a source's own fitment statement covers it. When a maker's list names one model but not its sibling, we don't extrapolate.
Affiliate links never touch the data. Purchase links are labelled and carry rel="sponsored"; compatibility claims and confidence badges are never influenced by commerce.

Right now 77 of 85 entries are manufacturer-verified,8 are measured/inferred, and 0 are community-referenced. If you spot an error, the fastest fix is the source itself: find the page that contradicts us and we'll correct the entry and cite it.
