Fits these machines

The shallowest basket in IMS’s Nanotech-coated 54mm line — 22mm, rated 12–14.5 g for a dark roast and 14–16 g for a light one. On a 54mm machine that is a normal double, not a small one: the 54mm format simply holds less than a 58mm basket at the same depth.

Why the shallow one is often the right one

Breville’s own baskets and the machine’s built-in tamper are sized around doses in the mid-teens, and the 54mm group has less headroom above the puck than a commercial 58mm group does. A deeper basket at the same dose leaves the puck sitting low with a large empty space above it, which is where channelling starts. If you dose 13–16 g, this is the height that fills properly.

Coating, not geometry

IMS gives the coating as ‘Anti-adherent, easy to clean, antibacterial’, and lists the coated and uncoated versions on a single capacity row — B62.52TH22E/NT — which is the plainest statement that the Nanotech treatment changes nothing about dose. Underneath it is the standard B62.5 shape: Ø62.5mm border, Ø54mm body, ridgeless, 583 hexagonal holes of 0.30mm across a Ø44mm face, with the narrowing at the base that IMS uses to build a compact puck.
