IMS MA200NT Nanotech Membrane Shower Screen (La Marzocco)

verified · 21 August 2026

Fits these machines

Of all the Nanotech screens IMS makes, this is the one the manufacturer pushes hardest: “The MA200NT (Nanotech) shower screen is the ultimate upgrade for La Marzocco home and prosumer machines.” IMS says that under a heading naming the Linea Mini and Micra directly, which makes this the best-sourced NT fitment in this database.

Specs: 56.4mm external, 55.4mm internal, 5mm wall, 7mm central hole, 200 µm filtration — dimensionally identical at the mounting face to the uncoated MA200IM.

Why the coated one, on this machine in particular

A La Marzocco saturated group holds a large thermal mass at temperature more or less permanently. That is the machine’s great strength, and it is also why the screen is the component that suffers: a hot brass roof plus coffee oils is how you get a polymerised film that no amount of rinsing shifts.

IMS’s stated mechanism for the quartz coating is hydrorepellency — water leaves as fine, evenly distributed droplets rather than sheeting — with the side effect that oils and spent grounds have nothing to adhere to. On a machine that is never really cold, that is the difference between a screen you clean and a screen you eventually replace.

How to look after it

IMS is unusually specific here, and it is worth following, because the failure mode is self-inflicted:

“For Nanotech (NT) models, backflush regularly but avoid using aggressive cafiza/pulycaff powders every single day, as harsh chemicals can eventually wear down the quartz coating.”

Its recommendation instead is “a daily water backflush and a wipe with a microfiber cloth”. If your routine is a daily chemical backflush, buy the uncoated IM — you will destroy the coating you paid for.

Fitment

The MA200 series is La Marzocco’s, and unusually among the brands here La Marzocco is unambiguous: the code guide lists it under MA only, where Rancilio appears under both RA and SR and Breville under both CI and BV. IMS names the Linea Mini and Micra explicitly and describes the range as covering “La Marzocco home and prosumer machines”; the GS3 is listed on that line-level statement plus the code guide’s brand assignment.

IMS’s own caveat applies: “The most common products of each manufacturer are compatible as indicated, but there may be models that use different components which may not always fit some models of home espresso machines.”

This is a group part — it fits the grouphead, not the portafilter. See groupheads explained.

Other items confirmed to fit machines this one fits — useful if you're kitting out a single setup. The count is how many of those machines overlap; nothing here is a new fitment claim.
