IMS’s MA200IM is the integrated-membrane shower screen for La Marzocco groups — 56.4mm external, 7mm central hole, filtering to 200 µm, photo-etched from a single piece of stainless steel.
Why a saturated group still benefits
La Marzocco’s home line uses a saturated group, which is already about as thermally stable as espresso hardware gets. The screen is not fixing temperature; it is fixing water distribution. A stock screen is typically a mesh over a backing plate, and the seam between those layers is where coffee oils collect — which is why an old screen makes espresso taste faintly stale no matter how well you backflush. A photo-etched membrane has no layers, so there is nothing to collect in.
IMS makes the point about maintenance directly on its La Marzocco page: the Nanotech-coated version of the same series exists precisely so “coffee oils won’t stick to the screen, keeping your group head immaculate and preventing rancid flavors”.
Series and variants
The MA200 series is La Marzocco’s. MA200IM is the plain integrated-membrane version described here; MA200NT is the same screen with IMS’s Nanotech quartz coating, which is the one IMS recommends on its La Marzocco page. Both are the same fitment.
Unusually among the brands here, La Marzocco is unambiguous — the code guide lists it under MA only. Rancilio appears under both RA and SR, and Breville under both CI and BV, which is why those need per-model statements before anything can be cross-referenced.
IMS names the Linea Mini and Micra explicitly and describes the screen as the upgrade for “La Marzocco home and prosumer machines”; the GS3 is listed here on that line-level statement plus the code guide’s brand assignment.
IMS’s own caveat is worth reading before buying: “The most common products of each manufacturer are compatible as indicated, but there may be models that use different components which may not always fit some models of home espresso machines.”
This is a group part — it fits the grouphead, not the portafilter — so it is keyed by group rather than by portafilter size. See groupheads explained.
Also fits the same machines
Other items confirmed to fit machines this one fits — useful if you're kitting out a single setup. The count is how many of those machines overlap; nothing here is a new fitment claim.

- https://www.imsfiltri.com/shower-screen/MA200IM.html (archived) — Official IMS Filtri product page ('MA200IM SHOWER SCREEN', Competition Line, Integrated Membrane), read firsthand 2026-08-11. Specs verbatim: 'SKU: MA200IM', 'External Diameter: 56.4 mm', 'Central Hole: 7 mm', 'Passage / Filtration: 200 µm'. Construction is IMS's integrated membrane — 'a single filtering part in stainless steel obtained through a process of photo-etching', whose surface is 'totally smooth and free from rough spots where dirt can deposit and accumulate'.
- https://www.imsfiltri.com/la-marzocco-precision-filters-showers.html (archived) — Official IMS La Marzocco compatibility page, read firsthand 2026-08-11 — the brand-to-series link. Names the machines verbatim in its FAQ heading: 'Why should I upgrade my Linea Mini or Micra shower screen to an IMS Nanotech?', and states 'The MA200NT (Nanotech) shower screen is the ultimate upgrade for La Marzocco home and prosumer machines.' It refers to the range at series level elsewhere — 'How do I maintain and clean the MA200 series shower screens?' — so the MA200 series is the La Marzocco line; MA200IM is the uncoated integrated-membrane version and MA200NT the Nanotech-coated one.
- https://www.imsfiltri.com/shower-guide.html (archived) — Official IMS Shower Code Guide, read firsthand 2026-08-10, which maps shower prefixes to brands: 'MA Marzocco, Synesso, Slayer'. La Marzocco appears in this series only — unlike Rancilio (RA and SR) or Breville (CI and BV) — so there is no series ambiguity to resolve. Also carries IMS's caveat verbatim: 'The most common products of each manufacturer are compatible as indicated, but there may be models that use different components which may not always fit some models of home espresso machines.'
